Shadow has always been captured by all types of art. At age 11, he watched his uncle draw a photo realistic pencil drawing of a WWII Glider Pilot. and he was hooked. Since then he has been putting pencil to paper, finger paints to walls to the despair of his mother. even trying his hand at sculpture. his first attempt at tattooing was age 15, when he hand picked a tattoo on himself. Soon he was tattooing all his friends, though his methods were crude, his art was good enough to have a number of his teenage friends, who's digressions were questionable, line up giving him plenty of skin to learn his skill. Tattooing was still a fringed idea with lot's of self taught artist. Shadow continued tattooing as a hobby for the next 6 years thinking he was good. Then in 1988 Shadow came across a bright young tattoo artist named Edward Lee. He was blown away by this young man's skill as a tattoo artist, but even more so by his pure skill with drawing. Shadow could tell Edward Lee was blessed with a gift and he wanted to learn from this master artist. Soon both men became fast friends. Edward Lee became a mentor in Shadow's pursuit of art. In fact it was this relationship that gave Shadow his current namesake. As Shadow acted as Edward Lee's understudy, he reproduce a lot of Ed's original artwork. One day Shadow was asked to sign a reproduction piece he produce and sold, as he explained that it was a reproduction it was not his to sign. When Ed heard about this, he informed Shadow to sign the art, in his rebellious way he signed the art, "Shadow Art" stating the art was but a shadow of it original artwork. Soon everyone was calling him Shadow, not liking the tag he resisted the name, but again Edward Lee said "no it fits, as your loyalty is like a persons shadow, its always there." when someone stated except in darkness, Eds response was, " then it becomes all encompassing." From then on Shadow was his name sake. Shadow went on to grow as a artist, though he continued to tattoo, his passion was in the designing of "flash". Shadow did not want to do small tattoos, his motto was " go big or go home" he designed full sleeves, chest plates, back pieces, skull cap's. Edward Lee even helped him get commissioned work with "Wild Rose Tattoo Shirts" out of Canada. Whom both artist designed clothing for. Shadow started to design large custom tattoos for customers, and other tattoo artist. It was more about the art for him. Shadow's style varies, but is shaped strongly by his mentor Edward Lee. His favorite artist are, Louis Royal, H.R.Gigor,, Boras Valaho, Julie Bell, But he still maintains that Edward Lee is the best free hand artist ever. Shadow went on to hand painting which he said is librating. He's became a muralist, and loves painting large walls. He loves to convert Edward's artwork into paintings, clothing, and murals. Shadow has devoted his life into showcasing Edward's artwork across the world. He truly believes his friend and mentor is unmatched as a Flash artist. This desire was the driving force behind the brand "ShamelessBodyArt".
